Create Interactive Slides with Wayground Add-on for Google Slides

Develop your presentations with interactive learning Wayground now has a new Lessons extension for Google Slides! In this guide, we'll walk you through the simple steps to install and utilize the Wayground for Google Slides add-on, which can be seamlessly integrated into your Google Slides presentations. From adding interactive questions to importing questions from the Wayground Library and even harnessing Wayground AI for question generation, this add-on will transform your presentations into engaging educational experiences.

How to get it

You can install the Wayground for Google Slides add-on directly from this link. Alternatively, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open any Google Slide you already have
  2. Click on 'Extensions'
  3. Hover over 'Add-ons' and select 'Get Add-ons'
  4. Search for 'Wayground for Google Slides' on the search bar
  5. Select the Wayground for Google Slides add-on and hit 'Install'

As a teacher, if the 'Install' option is blocked for you on this page, please contact your Administrator to allow installation.

How to use it

  1. Click on 'Extension' to find the Wayground for Google Slides add-on
  2. Click on the 'Wayground for Google Slides' add-on, and this will open a side panel to access the features

Once installed, you can use the Wayground for Google Slides add-on to:

  1. Add interactive questions
    • Create and add your own questions from a variety of different interactive Question Types
    • Import questions to your slides from the vast Wayground Library of teacher-created questions
    • Use Wayground AI to generate questions directly
  2. Host your Google Slides as an interactive Lesson on Wayground
To use this add-on easily, ensure your browser's 'Allow third-party cookies' setting is enabled.

Add interactive questions

Creating and adding your own questions

  1. Select the slide after which you want the question slide to appear
  2. From the Wayground panel on the right-hand side, choose the desired Question Type from the list of options available
  3. Create the question and answer. You can also choose to:
    • Add an answer explanation for your students to view after attempting the question
    • Set the number of points (ungraded questions will carry 0 points)
    • Set the time allotted for the question
    • Tag standards
  4. Click on 'Save question' from the top-right corner
  5. Repeat the same process to add more questions

Importing questions from the Wayground Library

  1. Select the Slide after which you want the question slide to appear
  2. From the Wayground panel on the right-hand side, click on the search bar and type the topic or subject name for the available Assessments/Quizzes
  3. Filter search results by grade, subject, and language
  4. Click on an Assessment/Quiz to preview its questions
  5. Click on 'Add question' to import questions one by one
    • A new slide will automatically be created with the imported question

  6. Repeat the same process to add more questions

You can also import an entire Assessment/Quiz from the Wayground Library. Simply click on the '+ Add independent activity' button on the Wayground panel and browse the Wayground Library.



To add an Assessment/Quiz, browse the library, click on an Assessment/Quiz to preview its content, and click on the 'Add all questions' button. The entire Assessment/Quiz will now be imported to your slide deck.

Using Wayground AI to generate questions 

Wayground AI allows you to generate questions from a single slide or the entire presentation. You'll need to log in to Wayground to access this feature. Simply select the account you currently use on Wayground to proceed.  

  1. From the Wayground panel on the right-hand side, click on the 'Try now' button near the 'Generate Questions from your Slides using AI' banner
    • If you want to generate questions from a specific slide or multiple slides, select those slides and click on 'Selected slides' on the Wayground panel
    • If you want to generate questions from the entire presentation, click on 'Selected slides' on the Wayground panel. Note that in this case, the generated question slides will be placed after all existing slides, and you can rearrange them later if you desire
  2. Select the required number of questions and the output language
  3. Click on 'Generate Questions' and wait for Wayground AI to generate questions for you
  4. Once the questions are generated, you can review them and delete or edit them as per your requirements
  5. Once you're happy with the questions, click on 'Save Questions' to add the generated questions to the presentation 

Edit questions

You can also edit every question using the Wayground for Google Slides add-on.

  1. Go to the question slide you want to edit
  2. Click on the 'Edit Question' button from the Wayground panel on the right-hand side
  3. You can choose to:
    1. Format the style of the question
    2. Edit the options
    3. Add math equations, images, videos, audio, etc. to questions and options
    4. Add an answer explanation for your students to view after attempting the question
    5. Set the number of points (ungraded questions will carry 0 points)
    6. Set the time allotted for the question
    7. Tag standards
    8. Use AI Enhance
  4. Click on 'Save question' on the top-right corner

Convert your Slides into a Lesson on Quiziz

Once you're done adding your questions to your Google Slides, you can then start the interactive Lesson on Wayground! Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the 'Start Lesson' button on the Wayground panel
  2. Enter the name and select the subject, grade, language, and visibility settings
  3. Click on 'Save & start lesson'

Wayground will now convert your slide deck into a Wayground Lesson and launch the Lesson for you to start live.

A. When you import your slide deck into Wayground, it is saved as a Lesson in your Library. You can access it anytime from your Library to start or assign the Lesson based on your needs and schedule.
